About Me

In 2017, I walked the Camino de Santiago from Irún, on the border with France, to Finisterre, on the Atlantic coast of Galicia. It was a life-changing experience. During that journey, I didn’t just walk over 800 kilometers of stunning landscapes; I also met and shared moments with people from all over the world. Many of them had something in common: they struggled to communicate in Spanish and understand my country’s culture. That experience awakened a passion in me that changed my life forever: teaching Spanish and sharing the richness of my culture with others.

That’s how SpanishRoute was born. The name is no coincidence: just like the Camino de Santiago, learning a language is a journey. It may seem long and challenging at first, but every step you take brings you closer to your goals. My mission is to accompany you on this journey, providing the tools and support you need to enjoy the process and move forward with confidence.

Who Am I?

My name is Sergio, and I’m a Spanish teacher born in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. I studied History at the University of Santiago de Compostela and completed a Master’s Degree in Media Communication at La Voz de Galicia. My passion for communication and marketing led me to also study digital marketing and web development, but my true calling lies in teaching Spanish. I also love music and hiking, hobbies that align perfectly with my love for the Camino de Santiago and nature.

Since 2017, I’ve been teaching Spanish online to students of all levels from around the world. I firmly believe that the best way to learn a language is by speaking with native speakers, but I also understand that, for beginners, facing a new language can be overwhelming. That’s why I created SpanishRoute, a project designed to make learning Spanish accessible, fun, and stress-free.

What is SpanishRoute?

SpanishRoute is a path to learning Spanish, specially designed for those starting from scratch. If you’re a beginner, you’ll find resources and courses that will help you:

  • Expand your basic vocabulary.
  • Improve your pronunciation.
  • Understand simple audio clips.
  • Build confidence before moving on to one-on-one lessons.

When you feel ready, we can plan private classes, where you’ll practice what you’ve learned with me in a personalized and flexible way. My goal is to help you speak Spanish fluently while enjoying the journey.

My Mission

With SpanishRoute, I want learning Spanish to be a journey full of discoveries—not just of the language, but also of the culture, traditions, and opportunities it can open for you. My mission is to help you overcome your barriers and become a confident speaker, connected to the Spanish-speaking world.
